Are you getting in enough water?
Seriously, how much water have you had today so far?? My number one rule above ALL else - drink plenty of water! We tend to think that we only need water during hot summer months! But even in the cooler months we still need to get in our water.
Water keeps you hydrated which keeps your body moving things along and feeling good. It combats hunger, too! Sometimes when you think you’re hungry – you’re actually just dehydrated. Plus, water helps your skin look good, helps ease bloat, and minimizes empty calories you get from soda or sugary coffee drinks.

Benefits of drinking water:
-hydrated muscles grow and perform at a higher level, and are better protected against muscle breakdown
-drinking water helps maintain the balance of bodily fluids
-drinking water helps your kidneys rid your body of toxins
-drinking water helps maintain normal bowel function
It’s recommended to drink half your weight in ounces in water every day. For example: A woman weighs 180 pounds. Half of 180 is 90. She should drink 90 ounces of water each day. I know that sounds like SO MUCH water, but here are simple ways to fit it all in!
-Drink 8-16 ounces before each meal -Drink a glass right after you wake up in the morning -Drink a glass of water after you go to the bathroom
-Drink fruit infused water
I promise once you get into a habit and find flavors you love, it will become second nature!
We need water year-round, every single day, which is why I wanted to share some recipes that you could easily find yourself enjoying while cozying up on the couch or hosting a holiday party.
Fall Infused Water Recipes

Apples + Cinnamon – You might think of this as the recipe for a great hot beverage, but you can infuse it into your 8 glasses a day too. If you’re making a whole pitcher, make sure you put enough apples in – at least two whole apples, thinly sliced. Add in 2+ cinnamon sticks, depending on how cinnamon-y you like it, and chill. This is one of your longer waters to infuse – it’s helpful to prep and throw in the fridge before bed so you can enjoy the full apple cinnamon taste the next day.
Orange + Pomegranate – Pomegranates are in tons of infused water recipes because they’re great detoxifiers thanks to their fiber, antioxidants and ability to reduce inflammation. They’re also super sweet, so it pairing it with orange makes for a refreshing burst of flavor that still looks beautiful on a fall table. For this combo, slice up a whole orange and add it to your pitcher. Add about ½ cup of pomegranate seeds and mix before storing. Let chill for at least a few hours before serving, and add more seeds if you’d like to up the intensity.
Cinnamon +Apple +Pear
Fugi, Granny Smith, Red Delicious, and/or Honey Crisp are all good choices for apples that contain high levels of nutrients and pair deliciously with cinnamon, which has been used as a healing spice for centuries . Same thing goes for the pear, which is loaded with water-soluble fiber and antioxidants. Give your body a simple cleanse with some cinnamon apple pear fall detox water! I drink this fall detox water by the pitcher when I’m feeling blah, and it always helps to calm my stomach. All you need is some filtered water, one apple, one Bosc Pear, and two cinnamon sticks.

If you have trouble reaching your recommended daily intake of water, infused is the way to go.
