24 Date Ideas For Spring 2024

Springtime has always been my favorite season, as it feels incredibly romantic to me. The fresh flowers and warm weather after a long winter are simply exhilarating. That's why I'm excited to share some of my favorite sweet spring date ideas with you.

I'm confident you and your significant other will love these ideas, too. I've divided them into two parts: indoor spring date ideas and outdoor spring date ideas. Regardless of the weather, there's something for everyone on this list.

You can choose the sweet spring date ideas that work best for you this spring. Why settle for just one when you can turn it into a spring date bucket list?

Embrace the romantic season and make the most out of it by trying out as many as possible.

Outdoor spring date ideas:

1: Springtime picnic 🧺

First on my list of favorite sweet spring date ideas for 2024, is having a picnic outside on a beautiful sunny day. I recommend getting a durable picnic blanket that can be used in all kinds of situations, even on sand or damp grass. I have a picnic blanket like that, which I got a few years ago and absolutely love it. It keeps the sand away and allows you to sit on damp grass and still stay dry. It's perfect for this cute date idea!

2. Visiting Farmer’s Market 💐

Visiting a farmers market is an excellent idea for a date. Not only do you get to enjoy the charming atmosphere, but you also have the opportunity to grab some fresh produce and other delightful items. You can easily find a farmers market near you with a simple online search, as most towns hold one on Saturdays or Sundays. Furthermore, these markets often offer additional vendors that serve breakfast or coffee. So, without a doubt, you and your date will have a splendid time.

3: Go to a vineyard tour 🍷

Springtime vineyard tours make for an absolutely perfect date. With pleasant weather and ample opportunities to sample some of the best wines, it's a win-win situation! Even if you don't live near a vineyard, it's worth planning a weekend getaway or a road trip for this delightful experience. Trust me, you won't regret it!

4: Watch the sunrise together 🌅

Watching the beautiful springtime sunrise is an excellent way to start the day. It’s an opportunity to appreciate nature's beauty and bask in the warm weather. Moreover, you can turn this experience into a fantastic date by heading out for coffee or breakfast after sunrise. Just make sure to carry some blankets if you plan to step out of your car to watch the sunrise. It might still be a bit chilly out there!

5: Go to the zoo 🦁

Another favorite activity is going on dates to the zoo! I highly recommend taking advantage of the beautiful spring weather and visiting a nearby zoo. There's something special about seeing all the animals come out to play and enjoying the fresh air with your loved one. The vibrant colors of the flowers and trees in bloom make it a perfect backdrop for a memorable date. Give it a try.

6: Take an afternoon hike 🥾

Getting outside during springtime is always a good idea. Going for a hike can be a perfect date because it's both romantic and a great way to stay active. You could even try visiting a nearby national or state park that you haven't explored before to make your hiking date more memorable.

7: Pick wildflowers together 🌸

This is an excellent idea for a cute date, especially when flowers bloom in spring! If you can't find wildflowers, you could also try looking for a farm or orchard that offers pick-your-own flower options near you.

8: Go get ice cream 🍦

If you're looking for a sweet and memorable date idea, why not try something that involves indulging in delicious treats? Whether it's chocolates, candies, or ice cream, there's no denying that sweets can add a touch of fun and romance to any date. For an even more memorable experience, I suggest finding a unique or lesser-known ice cream place in your area that you and your date haven't visited before. This could be a charming mom-and-pop shop, a trendy new spot, or an ice cream truck you've been meaning to try.

9: Find an outdoor concert or play 🎵

Use Facebook's Events page to search for outdoor concerts or plays near your location during the spring season. This is an ideal option if you are looking for inexpensive spring date ideas, as you may be able to find some free outdoor concerts or plays to attend.

10: Attend a local festival 🎟️

Local festivals are my personal favorite date idea! They are always such fun dates with lots of entertainment, tasty food, and an excellent way for you and your significant other to stay involved in the community together.

11: Go biking together 🚲

Bike riding is a thrilling and invigorating outdoor activity that can also serve as a great form of exercise. It provides an excellent opportunity for couples to bond and spend quality time together while exploring the outdoors. You can take your biking adventure to the next level by adding a sweet treat to the mix. Imagine biking to a nearby ice cream parlor and indulging in your favorite flavors while taking in the picturesque scenery. This is a great way to create unforgettable memories with your partner.

12: Pick strawberries (or any other seasonal fruit) 🍓

Typically, strawberries don't ripen until summer in my area, but it may vary depending on your location. Therefore, it's a good idea to do some research to find out which fruits are in season during spring in your region that you can pick yourself. Once you've picked a seasonal fruit, you can bring it home and make a delicious pie to enjoy during your date.

PRO TIP: Give this Triple Berry Pie a try from Lil Luna! Fresh, ripe and locally sourced berries are the main ingredients in this recipe!

PRO TIP: Ask the barista for recommendations or a custom creation when ordering a drink!

14: Visit a flea market 🛍️

Flea markets are an absolute delight to explore, and you're bound to discover some remarkable and one-of-a-kind finds, even if you're not looking for anything in particular.

15: Have an Earth Day date 🌎

Take action on Earth Day and strengthen your bond with your partner by planting, gardening, or volunteering together. Choose a date this spring and make a positive impact on the planet while creating unforgettable memories with your loved one.

16: Find a local botanical garden 🪴

Botanical gardens are one of my favorite destinations! Most botanical gardens display different decorations and plants based on the season, and personally, spring is one of the best times to visit them. I highly recommend adding a visit to a botanical garden to your spring bucket list.

You can enjoy the process of planting and nurturing the herbs, and then use them in your cooking for months to come.

3: Make your own ice cream 🍨

On a rainy day, making your own ice cream is more fun than going out to get it. Get an ice cream maker and spend the afternoon creating yummy flavors with your partner.

4: Paint your own planters 🎨

This indoor spring date idea is both crafty and fun! You can visit your local thrift store to find some planters, and then head to a home repair store to pick up some outdoor paint if you plan to display them outside. If you prefer to keep them inside, you can use any type of paint you like!
